Maria Inocenia Castillo Rodriguez, 94, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 30, 2024 at her home in Decatur.
The family will receive guests from 11am until the time of celebration of life service at 1pm, Friday, July 5, 2024 at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51, Decatur, Fr. German Perez-Diaz officiating. Burial to follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Decatur. Memorial contributions may be given to the family, c/o Go Fund Me https://gofund.me/87a3486a.
Maria was born December 30, 1929 in Matehuala, Mexico to Jose Castillo and Maxima Abrego. In the 1960’s, she moved to America and married Manuel Rodriguez and started their family. Maria was a true caregiver, which showed in the way she loved her family. She was always there for her children, grandchildren, and extended family. She was a talented cook, preparing homemade specialties with love every day. In her free time, Maria was a remarkable seamstress, often sewing clothing and handmade quilts.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Juan (Carol) Rodriguez, Ramona (Martin) Martinez, Jutberto Rodriguez, Victor Rodriguez, Raymundo (Liz) Rodriguez, and Josephina Rodriguez; 27 granchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 19 great, great grandchildren; and her siblings, Faustino (Luz) Castillo, and Etanislada Perez.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Rodriguez; her children, Espiridion Rodriguez Castillo, Ramon Rodriguez Castillo, and Agustina Valerio Rodriguez; her grandchildren, Robert Rodriguez, and Nestor Valerio Rodriguez; her great grandchild, Daria Alicia Anguiano; her great, great grandchild, Xavier Martinez; several siblings; and her parents.
