Linda's Obituary
Linda Day (Goff), 82, passed away peacefully Saturday December 28, 2024, at her home in Spokane, WA with family by her side.
Linda was born on July 10, 1941 to Claude and Louise Goff in McHenry, Kentucky. The family moved to Michigan when she was young. Linda volunteered as a candy striper in local hospitals and later worked at a bakery where she met her future husband, Darrell. They were married on June 13, 1964 and soon after they were blessed to adopt their children, Lori and Todd. Linda thrived as a mother and caregiver; many of the kids she babysat for over the years knew her by her nickname, Linny Lou. Her love of children was clear in everything she did.
She was in her element while hosting friends and family at her home, making every holiday and occasion extra special with her meticulous planning and preparation. Some of her most popular recipes are still prepared by her friends today. She especially loved to go all-out for Christmas, decorating to the nines and baking hundreds of homemade sugar cookies to share with her community.
Linda was an active member at Coloma Methodist Church for much of her life. She taught Sunday school and Bible school there for many years. She adored her three grand-daughters, as well as all the honorary children and grand-children she met throughout her life. If you knew Linda, you probably remember seeing her with a camera in hand, taking snapshots and creating elaborate photo albums full of happy memories. She was also an avid reader, particularly true crime and biographies.
Linda is survived by her daughter Lori Hannan of Spokane, WA (Resa Mason); three grand-daughters, Katie Hannan of Spokane, WA, Brianna Day of Grand Rapids and Brittany Day of Kalamazoo, MI; daughter-in-law Sabrina Bledsoe of Kalamazoo.
She was preceded in death by her husband Darrell and son Todd.
Linda will be laid to rest next to her husband at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Sodus on January 10th at 1pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the spring. Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Methodist Children's Home Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel – 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Friends wishing to leave the family a message of condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com
