Leslie's Obituary

Leslie "Les" Lee Tomlinson, 75, of St. Joseph, MI, passed away at home on March 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 27, 1950, in Jonesboro, AR., he moved to Michigan as a child and attended Coloma schools.

An Army veteran, Les met the love of his life, Karla, upon returning home from Vietnam, and they shared 54 wonderful years married. Les retired from Bosch Allied Signal after over 30 years of dedicated work.

Les was a "fix-it" man, and was a skilled woodworker, crafting cherished pieces for his family. Always helping others, especially at the community park in Florida, where he and Karla spent many happy years. He also volunteered with "Young At Heart," supporting children in need. Les was a man of few words but his charming wit and sarcasm are what most remember him by.

Above all, Les treasured being "Papa" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making countless memories together.

Les is survived by his wife Karla; sister Betty Weldon; children Tammy (Marco) Flores, Melissa Tomlinson, and Lee (Dawn) Tomlinson; grandchildren Samantha, Christopher, Kaylee, and Emma; great-grandchildren Kai and Vienna; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Willie Mae Tomlinson, and siblings John and Shirley Tomlinson.

A private celebration of life with Les' family and friends will be held at a later date.
