Lawanda's Obituary

Lawanda Hiatt, 86, of Grand Junction, passed away peacefully at Bronson Hospital in South Haven on March 6, 2024.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 9th from 12 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Lacota General Baptist Church. The Service will be held at 1:00P.M at the Church with Pastor Ron Hall officiating.

Lawanda was born in Manila, Arkansas on December 23, 1937 to Grant and Zelphia (Rowe) Ward.

She was a member of the Lacota General Baptist Church. At one time she attended the First Free Will Baptist Church in South Haven. She had pride in being a pastor’s wife. She also enjoyed helping on the family blueberry farm. She helped with children’s hay rides and church socials. Lawanda worked at several places including DuWell, Scott Aviation and D & L Sales.

Lawanda is survived by Rusty (Mary) Hiatt of South Haven, Roby (Joanne Lehr) Hiatt of Grand Junction, Ronald (Barbara) Hiatt of Gobles, along with six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

LaWanda is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Hiatt, son, Randall Hiatt, grandson, Dustin Hiatt and great-grandson Jack Hiatt.
