Laylow's Obituary
Laylow Morales, 55, of Allen Park, Michigan, passed away peacefully late Thursday evening, February 27, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family and fur babies after losing his yearlong battle with cancer.
He was born on June 7, 1969, in Santiago Chile, the son of Ladislao and Adela Morales. Laylow grew up in Windsor, Ontario before taking up permanent residency in the Detroit area, where he met and married Anita. Together, Laylow and Anita enjoyed traveling, camping, and educating themselves on ancient histories of the world but none more so than the Native populations of this western hemisphere. Those who knew Laylow knew he was blessed with a spontaneous personality that acted like a magnet drawing people to him, but it was his contagious laughter that kept him living his life to the fullest with his many friends and family.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years - Anita Morales; daughter – Jackie (Papo) Elayyan; friend-son – Michael Elayyan; grandson – Xavier Garcia; granddaughter – Keeke; brother – Gimo Morales; sister – Flora Morales; niece-sister – Brittany Little; niece – Sarin Morales; nephews – Dominic Little, Lorenso Little; and fur babies Missy and Meeka.
Friends, family and loved ones, of whose lives Laylow may have touched, are welcome to join us in celebrating his life on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Clark Chapel - Starks Family Funeral Homes, 405 Center St, Dowagiac. MI. The rosary will be recited at 11:00am with a traditional ceremony of the Potawatomi following. Pipe Carrier, Jason Wesaw, will officiate both funeral home and burial services at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
