Kyle's Obituary
Kyle was born August 12, 1988, in Holland, MI. He graduated from Whitehall High School in 2007. He continued his education at SNHU earning a master's degree in organizational leadership. Kyle was also in pursuit of his second master's degree at CMU.
In 2006, Kyle enlisted in the Michigan Army National Guard as an Infantryman in the First Battalion 125th Infantry Regiment. Kyle served 18 years in Delta Company, 1-125TH IN, and held leadership positions as a Squad Leader, Section Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and Company First Sergeant. First Sergeant Kyle Johnson is the recipient of 31 military awards and decorations, including four Army Commendation Medals, one with a C device, a Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and three Army Achievement Medals. First Sergeant Kyle Johnson deployed three times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq), Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and Operation Inherent Resolve (Syria).
In 2012, while still serving his country, Kyle began working as a security officer at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo. During his time at Four Winds, he worked in several roles until reaching his current position as a security shift manager.
On March 16, 2013, Kyle was united in marriage to Victoria Gilbert-Coulter. From that day forward they created the family and life of their dreams. Their marriage stood as an example of the perfect couple to those who witnessed the love between them. Kyle would always call her his princess or Gingerbear and say she was the love of his life. He liked to say they’d be together forever and a day. He became the father of four beautiful children who became an extension of the undying love Tori & Kyle shared. Being a father and husband were the most important roles of his life.
Kyle will be remembered for his infectious smile, and caring personality. Kyle was a collector of hobbies such as: playing hockey, hunting, trading stocks, golf, riding motorcycles, and working on cars. He was an avid sports fan. His teams were the Red Wings and Green Bay Packers. Kyle loved the outdoors, especially being on the lake, and trips to Northern Michigan.
His memory will be carried on by his wife - Victoria Johnson; four children - Annabelle, Madeline, Theodore, and Remington; mother – Vickie McFadden; older brother – Andrew (Lexie) Johnson; twin brother – Christopher Johnson; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family including his fellow Brothers & Sisters in Arms. He will now be reunited with his father-in-law – Shawn and departed friends and family.
