Kevin's Obituary
Kevin B. Sweeney, 67, of St. Joseph, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 at his home in St. Joseph.
The family will receive guests from 4-7pm, Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2pm on Friday, March 8, 2024. Memorial contributions may be given to the Readiness Center, www.readinesscenterinc.org. Arrangements entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel, www.starks-menchinger.com.
Kevin was born August 18, 1956 in St. Joseph, MI to Thomas Sweeney, Sr., and Arlene (O’Shea) Sweeney. Kevin was an abundance of life and always enjoyed the small things. His love for life was unmatched, something everyone surely loved about him. After leaving the Restaurant Industry he pursued his long-time dream of a Hot Dog Cart. It was there that Kevin found his love & passion fully come to fruition, as a man of the people he was committed to bettering the lives of all around him. A devoted member of The Readiness Center, he adored helping the children and committed his later years to ensuring they had the support and care they needed. Kevin was larger than life and a titan of his industry that many looked up to, he has fostered relationships that have lasted decades and his love for his fellow human is amongst no other. Kevin is so loved for what he has gave, and now he is so missed. As Kevin would have wished, it is not goodbye, it is see you again.
Kevin is survived by his children, Timothy Sweeney, and Maureen Sweeney (Nick Humes) gm; his grandchildren, Willow Burbach; and his siblings, Mary Kate (Glenn) Andrews, Eileen (Leslie) Pullins III, Patrick (Edie) Sweeney, Sean (Michelle) Sweeney, and Michael (Jesse) Sweeney.
He was preceded in death by his brother, T.J. Sweeney; and his parents.
