Karen's Obituary

Obituary for Karen Lynn (Snelling) Howley

Karen Lynn (Snelling) Howley, 71, of Benton Harbor passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday November 27, 2024 at home, with her loving husband Timothy Howley by her side.

Karen was born in South Bend, Indiana to James and Juanita Snelling (Peal), on October 4, 1953, and graduated from Hazelwood Central High School in Florissant, Missouri.
Moving to Michigan in the mid 1980’s, Karen met Tim while working at The Snowflake, and they were married in August of 1989. She enjoyed cooking, doing word puzzles, and being a dog mom - most recently to the very cool Rocky, who will miss her very much. Karen’s deviled eggs were legendary and requested at every family gathering. A very kind soul, Karen laughed easily and never had a bad word for anyone.

Karen is survived by her husband Timothy, sweet pooch Rocky, mother Juanita Peal of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, her son Keith (Amber) Peal, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and sister Kathy Harvey. She was preceded in death by her father James Snelling, and brothers Keith Snelling and Kerry Snelling.

Cremation has taken place, and the family will hold a celebration for Karen at a later date.
