Nicholas Ryan Karasch, 36, of Cassopolis, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, after an eight year fight with brain cancer.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Dowagiac Federated Covenant Church (202 Center St, Dowagiac, MI 49047.) In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Nick’s name may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.newellchapel.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newell Chapel, Decatur.
Nick was born on November 26, 1987 in Niles. He graduated from Decatur High School in 2006 and pursued further education at Western Michigan University, earning a Bachelor’s in Computer Science. Professionally, Nick dedicated several years as a City Carrier for the Cassopolis Post Office.
On May 12, 2018, he married Lindsay Marie McMullen in Kalamazoo, MI.
Known for his intelligence, Nick excelled in mathematics and various other subjects, often being at the top of his classes and ahead of the curve. He was highly driven and maintained focus on any project he undertook until achieving excellent results. During his youth, Nick was actively involved in 4-H, horses and participated in soccer.
Nick was an avid gamer, enjoyed learning about science (especially space), traveling, and photo restoration and preservation of family memories.
Nick is survived by his wife, Lindsay Karasch; mother, Jody Pitula (Ken) Kirby; father, Tony Karasch; brother, Jason (Annie Howell) Karasch; and uncles, cousins and friends.
