Jean's Obituary
Jean (Moore) Anthony, 101, a lifelong resident of Dowagiac, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, March 19, 2025.
Jean was born on January 29, 1924, in Dowagiac, the only child to the late Edward and Hazel (Price) Moore. She was a 1942 graduate of Dowagiac Union High School. On June 16, 1946, Jean was united in marriage to Warren J. Anthony Jr. She was employed by F.W. Woolworth Co in Dowagiac for 21 years and later worked for Berrien General Hospital for 21 years until her retirement.
Surviving are her daughter – Warrene Brimmer; three granddaughters – Theresa (Jonathan) Tomblin, Amy Lillie and Heather Scissom; and four great-grandchildren – Chase Lee, Ryan Lee, Aviana Jones and Gianna Jones.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 49 years – Warren Anthony Jr; and son – Warren “Edward” Anthony.
A graveside service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Riverside Cemetery, 400 Riverside Dr, Dowagiac. Pastor Chris Momany will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to Dowagiac First United Methodist Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Clark Chapel - Starks Family Funeral Homes, Dowagiac.
