Jean's Obituary

Jean A. Dulin, 86, of Buchanan, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Ernestine M. Raclin House, Mishawaka with her family at her side.

A celebration of life visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan. Inurnment will take place at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens at a later date. Memorial contributions in Jean’s name may be made to the Ernestine M. Raclin House, Mishawaka, IN. Jean was born on October 29, 1937, to Jack and Elezora (Brown) Conner in De Tour Village, MI. She graduated from Niles High School, class of 1955 Professionally, Jean provided valuable administrative support to various businesses in the area. On May 14, 1960, she married Robert W. Dulin, at First Presbyterian Church, Niles.

Jean was very involved in Boy Scouts, serving as a Den Mother in IL., and continuing to support Boy Scout Troop #548 in Buchanan with her husband, Bob. She was active member of First Presbyterian Church in Buchanan and was a deaconess. Known for her strength and independence, Jean took pride in maintaining her John Deere riding lawn mower with meticulous care. Jean always kept herself well put together, especially her nails, which she did herself, often prompting inquiries about where she had them done. Jean was also a fantastic cook, one of her specialties being homemade spaghetti. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family.

Jean is survived by her son, Robert William (Bobby) Dulin II of South Bend; daughter, Debora (Debbie) Dulin of Niles; grandchildren, Robert (Bobby) Dulin III and Barbra “Barbie” (Josh) Vorce; great-grandchildren, Robert Dulin IV, Annaliese Dulin, Ti Brock, Kairi Vorce and sister, Phylis Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Elezora Conner; husband of 45 years, Robert Dulin and brother, John Conner.
