Jamaar Smith, 38, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at his home.
Jamaar was born on May 20, 1986, in Dowagiac, the son of Curth and Angela (King) Smith. On July 20, 2013, he was married to the former Latrese Ball.
Jamaar loved to ride motorcycles in his spare time. His favorite bike was his Harley-Davidson. He also loved to spend time with his family and hang out with his friends. Jamaar loved being on the grill to cook for the holidays for everyone to come and enjoy a good time.
Surviving are his wife – Latrese Smith; nine children – Adriauna Bradshaw, Jamyla Smith, Jasmine Smith, Ja’Asia Smith, Jamaar Smith Jr, Jaleel Smith, Javaeh Smith, Josiah Smith and Jayla Smith; granddaughter – Azaria Smith; parents – Curth and Angela Smith; brother – Curtis Wade; two sisters – Lisa (Jimmy) McMillian and Lucretia Griffen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
A service to celebrate Jamaar’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 21, at Dowagiac American Legion, 806 Orchard St. Arrangements were entrusted to Clark Chapel and Cremation Services – Starks Family Funeral Homes, 405 Center St, Dowagiac.
