Hope was born October 10, 1967 in Kingston, Jamaica to Clifton & Greta (Smith) Muir. She later moved to New Jersey where she grew up before moving to Berrien Springs, MI to attend Andrews University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing in 2012. She was employed at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in South Bend. She previously worked at Lakeland Hospital and Lakeland Urology in St. Joseph.

To know Hope was to know love. Christ lived in and through her and it was clear to anyone who was blessed with the opportunity of getting to know her, even for only a moment. Known for her warm smile, kind heart and gentle spirit, she walked among us like an angel, touching the lives of those she met in the most beautiful ways. As we prepare to say our final goodbye on this side of heaven, we take comfort in knowing that her name is a constant reminder of what we have, Hope! Hope in knowing that we will see her again for an eternity.

Hope was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was a very giving person and enjoyed taking care of others. In her free-time, she enjoyed photography, cooking, working out, and above all, spending time with the love of her life - Guy Emmanuel.

Hope is survived by her parents, Clifton & Greta Muir of Atlanta, GA; her brother, Clifton Muir, Jr. of Atlanta; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; the love of her life, Guy Emmanuel of Benton Harbor, MI; Guy’s brother, Clyde Emmanuel of Benton Harbor, MI; and special friends Scheryl Moore of Benton Harbor, MI, Shelly Temple of South Bend, IN and June Scott of Berrien Springs, MI.

On behalf of the Muir family, her loved ones and friends, thank you all for the outpouring of love and support during this most difficult time.
