Herman's Obituary
Herman L. Black, 91, of Dowagiac, passed away early Saturday morning, February 8, 2025 at The Timbers of Cass County in Dowagiac.
He was born on January 10, 1934, in Bradford, Arkansas, the son of the late Lee and Erna (Rice) Black. Herman was employed by Judd Lumber in Dowagiac for many years until his retirement.
Surviving are his wife – Patsy (Raas) Black; two children - Craig (Pam) Black and Sheryl (Bruce) Meiser; five grandchildren – Kyleigh (Nate) Kramb, Tony Black, Ben (Tiffany Barrett) Meiser, Jamie Meiser and Taylor (Rocky) Boswell; ten great-grandchildren – Tessa, Tate, Collin, Kassidy, Mason, Zander, Zoey, Rocky, Ryker and Layne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and nine siblings – Gladys, Claude, Carl, Evelyn, Norman, Odel, Erna V, Vivan, and Thomas Fletcher.
Honoring Herman’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation or services as this time. Arrangement were entrusted to Clark Chapel - Starks Family Funeral Homes, Dowagiac.
