Henrietta's Obituary
Henrietta, lovingly known as “Henri”, “Retta” and/or “Hank”, was born on December 11, 1940, in Buchanan to Thad & Margaret (Henspeter) Breland. Known for being a hard worker and a strong, independent woman, Henrietta was a dedicated employee of Whirlpool, Corp. for many years. While there, she formed several long-lasting friendships prior to her retirement. Henrietta’s big heart and fondness for helping others led her to volunteer for the Berrien County Cancer Service and Berrien County Youth Fair and she was also a 4-H leader for many years. Those who had the pleasure to be around Henrietta enjoyed her sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time in her garden tending to her flowers and vegetables as well as bird watching. Henrietta exceled at all things craft related, from sewing to stained glass (and absolutely everything else in between). In her leisure time, she could be found perusing the local garage sales with her daughter. While one of her favorite activities was to be home with her dogs, what brought Henrietta the most joy was being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Loyalty to her family was her strongest attribute.
Henrietta is survived by her three sons, Ronald, Jr. (Guadalupe), Randy (Robin), and Richard (Sherry) Hein, all of Galien, and her only daughter, Debra (Douglas) Brewer of New Carlisle, IN; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren (with another one on the way!); former spouse, Ronald Hein, Sr. of Galien, and sister, Mary (Robert) Schrader of Dowagiac. She was preceded in death by both of her parents as well as by two siblings, Freida Phillippi and Thad Breland.
