Helen grew up a on a farm in Lacota Michigan, attending Lacota, grade school, then Central Middle School and graduating from South Haven High School. She met and married the love of her life Casimir Biernacki while attending Cosmetology School in Chicago and together they raised 4 children in Cicero Il. Casimir worked in the Foundry while Helen made a home, cooking her delicious polish dishes of pierogis, pies and sweet bread. Helen had a green thumb, she spent many hours working in her garden, tending her flowers, feeding the humming birds, orioles and cardinals that came to visit her in the yard. Also picking fruit, vegetables, mushrooms and then canning. She could make anything taste delicious. Her kitchen was always open to anyone hungry or in need. Helen loved her tractor and keeping the lawns at all of her farms pristine. She was a woman of great faith. Always caring for others. She loved to dance the polka and was very proud of her polish heritage. Above all family was the most important thing to Helen. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
