Mike's Obituary
Gerald “Mike” Moran, 70, of Decatur, passed away early Saturday morning, June 1, 2024, at his residence.
He was born on April 11, 1954, in Shelby, MI, the son of Harold “Pat” and Alice (Burns) Morin. Mike was a veteran of the United States Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne serving 3 years during the Vietnam Conflict. On February 26, 1981, he was united in marriage to Veronica Jane “Ronnie” Spicer.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years - Ronnie Moran; three children – Jody (Becky) Nix, Jamie Nix and Fredrick Moran; six siblings – Paula (Fred) Stinton, Paul (Dorothy) Moran, Kandy (Kim) LaMere, Pat Morin, Itanna (John) Dartt, and Yvonne Cole; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother – Leonard “David” Latvala.
Private family interment with military honors will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newell Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Homes, Decatur.
