Gerald “The Katman” Kaatz, 75, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at his home.
Gerald was born November 2, 1948 in St. Joseph, MI to Walter & Evelyn Kaatz. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1966. He then attended Lake Michigan College where he received his Associated Degree in Business. On March 22, 1986 he married Sharyn Rupp at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Gerald worked for Kaywood Window Décor for many years. Gerald was an avid golfer who accomplished 4 hole-in-ones. He enjoyed golfing at Orchard Hills Country Club and Lake Michigan Hills. Gerald also enjoyed watching sports especially the Chicago Cubs, Bulls and Bears.
Gerald is survived by his wife Sharyn Kaatz; brother Richard (Karen) Kaatz; sister-in-law Linda (Jim) Ditto; brother-in-law Greg (Debbie) Rupp; nephews Colton Ditto and Nicholas Rupp; and niece Micah Rupp. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents.
