George "Biff" Rockey

George "Biff"'s Obituary

George (Biff) Rockey was born February 20, 1944, to George and Helen (Kowalski) Rockey. He died peacefully at home on Sunday, September 1, 2024, surrounded by his family. He lived all his life on the same small family farm outside Berrien Springs, Michigan.

On June 24, 1972, he married Janece Noble who survives him. Also surviving are his daughter, Nora Cash; son, Jeffery Rockey; and granddaughter, Joyce Cash.

He was a Vietnam Veteran having served with the Naval Reserve. He attended Berrien Springs Schools, graduating in 1962, as well as being a graduate of Western Michigan University.

During his life he was at one time an active member of Berrien County Sheriff’s Posee and spent many evenings on horseback helping park cars at the Berrien County Youth Fair. He was also a 4-H leader for many years with the Galien Chanters 4-H Club, had been honored as an outstanding leader, and recently received a thirty-five-year service pin. He had been an active member at Central County Senior Center and was a previous board member and officer.

Visitation with Biff’s family will take place on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Heritage Chapel (8747 US 31. Berrien Springs, Michigan 49103). A funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11:00 am at Heritage Chapel, with visitation taking place one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place following services at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s name can be made out to either Central County Senior Center in Berrien Springs or to Caring Circle Hospice.
