Edward M. Corwin, 95, a lifelong resident of Dowagiac, passed away on Thursday afternoon, October 3, 2024, at Cass County Medical Center Facility in Cassopolis, MI.
He was born on February 7, 1929, in Dowagiac, the son of the late Dean and Beulah (Swisher) Corwin and was a graduate of Dowagiac High School. Ed was employed by National Standard in Niles until his retirement.
On October 1, 1949, Ed was united in marriage to Monna Vandenburg at Dowagiac First United Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, skeet shooting, gardening and gun smithing. Ed was a longtime member of the Dowagiac Conservation Club.
Surviving are two children – James (Vicky) Corwin and Sharon (Chris) Wallace; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and longtime companion – Lila Hawn.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 58 years, Monna Corwin; daughter – Debra Wood; and brother – Louis Corwin.
Friends may gather to celebrate Ed’s life with food and fellowship from 1:00-3:00 PM on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Dowagiac Conservation Club, 54551 M-51 North, Dowagiac. Private inurnment will be Hamilton Cemetery, Decatur. Memorial contributions in Ed’s name may be directed to Dowagiac Conservation Club.
