Edna's Obituary
Edna M. Ralston, 90, of Decatur, MI, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at her residence.
She was born on December 19, 1933, in Chicago, IL. On September 9, 1953, Edna was united in marriage to the love of her life, Lawrence Ralston. Edna was employed by Chicago Public Schools where she retired from Northside Learning Center.
Surviving are two daughters – Jean (Mark) Wojtyla and Carol (Erick) Zillmer; three grandchildren – Robert (Nicky) Wojtyla, Carl Wojtyla and Shannon Zillmer; three great-grandchildren – Evan, Avery and Rarerick; and sister – Frances Rosanova.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband of 63 years, Lawrence Ralston; father and step-mother – Emil and Bea LeBeda; mother – Margaret (Schwenk) LeBeda; and sister – Arlene Teolis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, Oct 24, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 500 W. St. Mary St, Decatur, MI with Father Arul Lazar as celebrant. Friends may visit with Edna’s family from 4pm-7pm on Wednesday, Oct 23, and from 10am-10:30am on Thursday, Oct 24 at Newell Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Homes, 83313 M-51, Decatur.
