Douglas A. Popp, 66, of Berrien Springs, MI passed away Monday, June 10, 2024 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville after a seven-month battle with glioblastoma brain cancer.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:30 P.M., Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Pioneer Memorial Church, 8655 University Blvd., Berrien Springs, MI 49103. Friends may visit with the family from 3:30 P.M. until 4:30 P.M., Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Andrews University for an educational scholarship fund and sent to the office of Planned Giving & Trust Services, 8903 US Hwy 31, Berrien Springs, MI 49104-0645 Those wishing to share a memory of Doug online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com
Doug was born April 17, 1958 in St. Joseph, MI to Warren & Elizabeth (Nussdorfer) Popp. On June 12, 1983 he married Tari Crumley. Doug was self-employed and owned Doug Popp Construction. Throughout his life Doug loved to go boating, water skiing, snow skiing, snowmobiling and riding dirt bikes. He was an avid Chicago Sports fan and enjoyed watching the Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks and Bulls. Doug also enjoyed socializing, and spending time with his family, friends and Riley his Bengal.
Doug is survived by his wife Tari Popp; daughter Lauren (Tommy) Greene; granddaughters Kit Poppy Greene and Jane Violet Greene; and sister Lynda Swanson. Doug was preceded in death by his parents.
