Dorothy Goldbaum, 92, passed away on November 20, 2021 in San Diego CA, after a long battle with dementia.
Dorothy was born June 8, 1929 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Sam and Fanny Goldstein. She was the youngest of twelve. Her family moved to Michigan in 1939, where she lived most of her life. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration at the age of 48, while she was working for the State of Michigan in the social services department. After she retired from the State of Michigan, she enjoyed gardening, opera music, and time with her family.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Mark of San Diego, CA and Ross of Hillsborough, NC; four granddaughters, Shannon, Rochelle, Sarah and Katie; one grandson, John and three great-grandchildren, Kayla, Cassandra, and Collin.
A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St Joseph, MI 49085. Burial will follow at B’nai Sholom Cemetery in Benton Harbor. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.
