Donna's Obituary
Donna Jean Muff, 72, of Watervliet, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 4, 2024, at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Donna was one of nine children, born March 31, 1952, in Danville, Alabama to Mary Lou Childers and Ennis Almon Summerford.
Donna was so full of life and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was fearless, strong, courageous and resilient. She enjoyed many things in life, but her favorites were painting, bowling, and playing softball. She was an avid bowler and softball player for many years and could typically be found bowling a near perfect game or pitching from the mound on the softball fields at Coloma Lanes. She was soft when needed but she was a tomboy at heart and was very competitive in everything she participated in. Later in life, she enjoyed playing bingo, going shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. She loved a good sale and thrived to enhance and bring happiness to those close to her.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents Ennis and Mary Summerford, her husband Robert Vernon Muff and her siblings; Audrey Steele, Talmadge Summerford, Charles Summerford, Shirley Roden, and Diana Norred.
She is survived by her siblings; Eva Sizemore, Jerry (Janice) Summerford and Joyce (Michael) Freville, her children; Carol (John) Laratta, Derek Scott Bush, and Carrie Ann Phillips; grandchildren, Heather Rawson, Ashley Rawson, Brianna Laratta, Sean Coomler, Riley Phillips, Mary Phillips, and Brooklynn Phillips, and 11 great-grandchildren and many friends who loved her dearly.
Donna wished to be cremated and buried with her late husband at Lake Shore Cemetery in Riverside, Michigan. A Celebration of Life will be held March 28, 2025, from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Word of Life Church at 330 S. Pleasant St. in Watervliet, Michigan.
