Donald's Obituary
Donald E. Toy, 89, of Cassopolis, passed away Monday morning, February 5, 2024, at his residence.
He was born on February 13, 1934, in Chippewa Falls, WI, the only son of nine children to Eugene and Louise (Proulx) Toy. Don attended Dowagiac Union High School and graduated with the class of 1952 along with his high school sweetheart, Mary Lou Keesler, who he was united in marriage to on August 16, 1953. Don built every home that he lived in with his growing family. In his free time, he liked to go fishing and wood working projects.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years – Mary Lou Toy; their three children – Diana (Larry) Townsend, Ed (LeeAnn) Toy and Sherrie (Michael) File; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five sisters – Donna Pierson, Mickey (Terry) Miller, Judy (Don) Bell, Mary Gillesby and Carol Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and three sisters – Pat Parker, Sharon Mott and Muggs Toy-Huston.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Marion Magnolia Farms 57376 Twin Lakes Road Cassopolis. Arrangements were entrusted to Clark Chapel and Cremation Services – Starks Family Funeral Homes, 405 Center St, Dowagiac. Those wishing to share a memory of Don online may do so at www.clarkch.com.
