Donald's Obituary
Donald Arthur Jeschke, 83, a life-long resident of Saint Joseph, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at A Place Called Home in Stevensville. He was born on March 17, 1941 in Saint Joseph to Arthur and Elsie (Greening) Jeschke.
The family will receive guests from 5-7pm, Friday, February 14, 2025 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Visiting will continue from 10am until celebrating the gift of eternal life at 11am, Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Christ Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville. All are welcome to attend his Christian burial at 3pm at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma the same day. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to Christ Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour, www.lutheranhour.org.
Don married the love of his life, Sharon Ziebart on June 11, 1966 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph and went on to have three daughters. He worked for many years in quality control at various companies, eventually retiring from Cast-Matic (Intermet). If you knew Don, you knew his true passion was fishing. Whether it be on Lake Michigan, smaller inland lakes, or in Canada, you would always see a smile on his face holding up his catch! He also enjoyed bowling - one time scoring a perfect 300; golfing, where he once celebrated a hole in one; and hunting in his free time. Don was a devout Christian and member of Christ Lutheran Church where he served as an usher, on the stewardship board, and assisted with weekly finances. He also enjoyed Bible class and his weekly coffee visits with his brother-in-law and friends.
Don will be missed by his wife, Sharon Jeschke; his daughters, Tammy (Corey) Bainter, Dawn (Jason) Thompson, and Christine Terry; his grandchildren, Patricia Terry, Joshua Terry, Madelynne Thompson, Sydney Thompson, Gage Bainter, Luke Bainter, Paige Thompson, and Alexandra Thompson; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Rudlaff, Elaine Tiefenbach, and Eleanor Krejci; and his parents.
