Donald's Obituary
Donald L. Colpetzer, 75, of Liberty Center, OH, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio – Perrysburg.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 28 at 5 PM at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 925 Chippewa St., Buchanan. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior to the service. A private interment will be held at a later date at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swem Chapel. Donald was born on July 17, 1948, in Niles, MI, to Joseph & Doris (Wolkins) Colpetzer. He attended New Troy High School. After high school he traveled across the country pursuing his passions including horse training. Donald married the love of his life, Jill. They were happily married for over 35 years until her passing on November 13, 2016. Donald was the manager of several motels, and mobile home communities. He also loved farming which included raising emu. He was known by his family and friends to be a “jack-of-all-trades” utilizing his skills to help anyone in need. He was a talented artist who loved painting western scenes and nature.
Donald is survived by his brother, Jon (Judith) Colpetzer; brothers-in-law, Jack Fuller (Linda Colpetzer) and Frank Rouse (Jody Colpetzer); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Doris; wife, Jill; and sisters Linda Fuller & Doris “Jody” Rouse.
