Delores's Obituary
Delores Jean Phillips-Pfaff, 83 of Pullman, passed away peacefully at home, Monday October 7, 2024. Born on January 8, 1941 in Coloma Michigan to Dudley and Clara Phillips.
Delores is survived by Gordon (Sharon) Hardester, Rebecca (Scott) Owen, Kevin (Shelly) Hardester, Heidi (Steve) Sargent, 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents and sisters Theresa (Bob) Plasko and Sallie Rutz.
Delores graduated from Covert High School. During her senior year she was crowned the Cherry Pie Queen. She was a proud blueberry farm owner in Covert, with a true entrepreneurial spirit. She owned and operated the Original Hair Loft in South Haven in 1975 which started above McDonalds drug store, she then opened the Jean Michelle Academy in 1978 for Cosmetology. Delores was very in involved in the revitalization of the city of South Haven in the 1980’s. She was a very strong, independent, take-charge type of woman. At one point she travelled to St. Thomas and the Virgin Islands to do Skin Care after she came back, she switched gears and opened Preferred Satellite in Watervliet. She was not one to be idle Delores travelled and worked with Wesley Clark on his 2004 Democratic Presidential Campaign. Delores was a tough lady a real go getter but she loved her family and grandkids, she will be greatly missed.
Visitation for Delores will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Filbrandt Chapel, 1076 S. Bailey Ave, South Haven, Michigan 49090 from 11 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 12 p.m.
