Debra's Obituary
Debra L. Wood, 64, a lifelong resident of Dowagiac, passed away on Friday afternoon, March 29, 2024, at Cass County Medical Care Facility in Cassopolis, following a lifelong battle with Chron’s disease. She was born on July 16, 1959, in Dowagiac, the daughter of Edward and Monna (Vandenburg) Corwin.
Debbie was a 1977 graduate of Dowagiac Union High School. She continued her education earning an associate degree from Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac. Debbie worked as a medical transcriptionist for Borgess Heath Systems and Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac.
Surviving are two sons – Tyler (Samantha) Wood of Manistique and Zachary Wood of Dowagiac; father: Ed Corwin; sister – Sharon (Chris) Wallace; brother – James (Vicky) Corwin; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her mother – Monna Corwin.
Honoring Debbie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation or services. Private family inurnment will be in Hamiton Cemetery, Decatur. Arrangements were entrusted to Clark Chapel and Cremation Services, 405 Center St, Dowagiac.
