Deborah Lynn “Debbie” Naragon, 61, of Houston, TX, formerly Buchanan, MI, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023, at home.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan. Visitation will be held two hours prior, from 2-4 also at the funeral home. Debbie loved the color purple, and the family would encourage anyone attending to wear purple if able, in her honor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Humane Society of Southwest Michigan or the Harris County Humane Society. Debbie was born on January 28, 1962, in Niles. She graduated from Buchanan High School, class of 1980 and continued her education through Southwestern Michigan College, earning her Associate Degree.
In 1981, Debbie moved to Texas and began her professional career as a clerk typist in the oil industry in 1982. Through her diligent work ethic, excellent organization and perseverance, she quickly moved up in the company, and retired from Exxon Mobil as an Oil & Gas Lease Analyst in 2021 after 38 years of service.

Debbie loved the color purple, the state of Texas, Mexican food, being on the beach and crafting. She also enjoyed NASCAR, Notre Dame Football and was a big Houston Astros fan. Debbie had a passion for nature and animals, she was a caring and generous person. Though Debbie was also a professional woman, independent, strong and brave. Most of all, Debbie enjoyed traveling, especially to Mexico, and spending time with her family and friends, often enjoying hosting and entertaining their company.

Debbie is survived by her best friend and soulmate, Steven Naragon; son, Michael (Tracy) Naragon; mother, Virginia Reed; father, Larry A (Ann) Reed; sister, Suzanne (Richard Aldridge) Galaske; step-sisters, Lisa Taylor and Michelle (Robert) O’Malley; niece, Asa (Ryan) Niedbalski; nephew, Adam (Jessica) Galaske; great-niece's Mackenzie Lynn, Addisyn Suzanne, Brookelynn Kellie Niedbalski and great-nephew, Levi Joe Galaske. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William and Nina Madden and paternal grandparents, Jack and Helen Reed.
