David's Obituary
David Broekhuizen, 69, of Decatur, passed away peacefully, after a long battle with Parkinson’s/Lewy Body Dementia disease, with his loving wife/caregiver at their home on Sunday, June 5th, 2022.
He was born June 1st, 1953 in Paw Paw, Mi, to Andrew and Harriet (Hoogenboom) Broekhuizen.
Dave is survived by his wife, Ginger (Harris) Broekhuizen. They met in 1996, dated for 12 years, then married on May 17th, 2008.
Dave is also survived by his father, Andrew Broekhuizen; mother-in-law, Nancy Harris; his step son, Devan (Roxanne Terry) Harris; his grandson, Cody Brown; siblings-in-law, Monica DeLoach, Bill (Arla) Harris, Ed (Lola) Harris, and Dorothy (Loren) Robinson; his cousin, Anco Broekhuizen; his children, Jason (Jamie) Broekhuizen, Ryan (Katie) Broekhuizen, Jennifer (Brent) Ellis, and 9 grandchildren; his siblings, Bruce (Peggy) Broekhuizen, John Broekhuizen, Nancy (Glen) Leep, Mariann Leep, Sue (Bruce) Tiemeyer, Paul Broekhuizen; Phil (Stephanie) Broekhuizen, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his nephew, Danny Tiemeyer and his mother, Harriet Broekhuizen.
A special appreciation would like to be given from “Bob” to Roxanne, Sandy and Laura at First State Bank.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 9th between 2pm and 5pm, at the VFW hall, 560 N. Phelps St., Decatur.
