Danny's Obituary

Danny A. Hawkins went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 31, 2024, while surrounded by family.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 1, 1947, to Enoch and Louise Hawkins.
Dan fervently served his Lord and family over the years as a tool and die maker at Auto Specialties, as a general contractor, owner of a car lot, gas station, Lakeshore Skating Rink, and as a real estate appraiser.

Additionally, Dan will be remembered for his love of flying, day trading, and willingness to take on complicated projects— especially with his grandchildren.

Dan is survived and profoundly missed by his sisters: Linda (Jim) Hays, Mary (Wally) Oldham, and brother Terry Hawkins. Daughters: Donna Hawkins, Angela (Matt) Achterberg, and son David (Heather) Hawkins.
Grandchildren: Jordan (Theresa) Grimes, Calvin (Sydney) Grimes, Maison Grimes, Joshua Hawkins, Joseph Hawkins, Hannah Hawkins, Jacob Achterberg and Rachel (Nolan) Achterberg-Meekhof. Additionally, great-grandson, Donatello Grimes.

It gives us great comfort to know that upon Dan’s passing he was also welcomed into eternity by his father, Enoch Hawkins; mother, Louise Hawkins; and loving wife of 56 years, Diane Hawkins.

Please join us at The Chapel on Jan. 11, 2025.
