Craig Alan Raas, 48, of Galien, MI, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel, located at 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.
Born on April 13, 1976, in Niles, MI, Craig was the son of Dennis and Paula (Rolston) Raas. A proud graduate of Galien High School’s Class of 1995, Craig was known for his unique sense of humor, creativity, and vibrant spirit. He had a passion for remodeling cars and took great pride in his beloved farm in Galien.
Craig was an extraordinary father to his children, Benjamin O’Donnell and Fallyn Reber, both of New Buffalo. He dedicated his life to nurturing and supporting them, and his unwavering love and guidance helped shape the people they are today. As their rock, he instilled values of kindness and resilience that will resonate with them forever.
Craig's impact on those around him was profound; he had an incredible ability to change lives through his warmth, generosity, and infectious laughter. He blessed everyone he met and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his long-time significant other, Carie O’Donnell; his mother, Paula McCleland, of Noblesville, IN; and his sisters, Jennifer (David) McSurley of LaPorte, IN, and Amanda (Aaron) Askew of Fishers, IN. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Raas, and his stepfather, Michael McCleland.
A celebration of life will be held at the New Buffalo American Legion on November 2nd from 1-4 PM. All who wish to join in honoring and remembering Craig are welcome.
