Cora's Obituary

Cora (Wesaw) Al Nadabi, 24, of Hartford, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

She was born on June 28, 2000, in Battle Creek, Michigan. A 2018 graduate of Hartford High School, Cora was a decorated first chair trombone player; captain of her volleyball, softball and basketball teams; and was also Academic All-State in volleyball. Upon graduation from Hartford, she attended Michigan State University and Western Michigan University. Cora was a member of the WMU Club Softball team.

Cora’s most important gift in her life was her son, Adnan. Cora adored her son and was a loving and fierce advocate for him. She set boundaries with his daily diet and care, as she always wanted what was the healthiest and the best for him. The love these two shared was contagious, they lit up the room with their laughter, smiles and hugs. Their love and bond is everlasting.

Surviving are her husband – Ismail Al Nadabi; their son – Adnan Al Nadabi; mother and step-father – Deanna and Eric Brown; siblings – Jordan Brown, Phillip Brown, Amara Wesaw and Fabian Wesaw Jr; niece – McKynlee; nephew – Caesar Jr; grandparents – Evon and Gaylord Boyer and Brenda Brown; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Preceding her in death were her father – Fabian “Jimmy” Wesaw Sr. and grandparents – James and Edna “Faye” Wesaw and David Brown.

A service to celebrate Cora’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 11, at Clark Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Homes, 405 Center St, Dowagiac. Friends may visit with Cora’s family from 5-7 PM on Thursday, October 10, with a tribal Pipe Ceremony beginning at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dowagiac.
