Christine's Obituary
Christine Marie Nickens was born September 6, 1968, to Robert and Shirley (Jackson) Nickens in Dowagiac. She passed away April 16, 2022 at her home. Christine attended and graduated from Dowagiac Union Schools. Christine was a hard worker, she was employed for many years at McDonalds in Dowagiac, along with other odd jobs she had over the years. Christine enjoyed movies, music, talking and hanging out with her many, many friends. She never met a stranger.
Christine is survived by her mother Shirley; her four children: Jamere Nickens of Dowagiac; Denicesha Nickens of Cleveland, OH; Kalen (Stephon) Dean of Grand Rapids, MI; Jalen Nickens of Clarksville, TN, bonus son Yarnel Collins of Clarksville, TN; Nine grandchildren: Ja’Juan Nickens, Jailah Bacon, Jarius Nickens, Jamere Bacon II, Stephon Dean II, Seven Dean, Zarra Nickens, Liz, and Destiny. Sister Denice (Jerry) Redmond of Elkhart, IN; brothers Robert Nickens IV of Dowagiac; and Jamaal Nickens of Dowagiac. She was preceded in death by her father Robert III and brother Darius.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 30402 M-62, Dowagiac with Pastor Bryant Bacon officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the church. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.clarkch.com.
