Chuck was born on April 17, 1943 in Albion, Michigan to Melvin C. and Donna G. (Phillips) Brunner. During Chuck’s high school years, he was an all-state athlete playing quarterback in football, excelled at pitching in baseball and also played basketball. Chuck graduated from Western High School in Parma in 1961. He married his high school sweetheart, Sue Hendershott, on June 19, 1965 at the Parma United Methodist Church. This last year they celebrated 59 years of marriage. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Chuck worked as a Purchasing Agent and Shipping & Receiving Manager at several Jackson Area small industrial companies. He was an avid sports fan! He enjoyed coaching Todd’s little league team and playing softball in a recreation league himself for several years. He was a diehard Michigan State fan. Chuck also enjoyed collecting sports cards and stamps. However, what he enjoyed most was traveling. He would plan and map out trips for his family, get everyone up at 2:00a.m., and take adventures to all different parts of the country.
