Charlene Marie Baker, 68 of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Monday, July 22, 2024 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph surrounded by music, friends and family.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 29, 2024 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph followed by a time of sharing at 2:00 P.M. Charlene was born July 22, 1956 in Kewanee, IL to Francis and Janice (Mitchell) Baker. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School as a proud member of the Class of 1974. Charlene then attended Northern Michigan University where she received her bachelor’s degree in 1979. She worked for the Department of Treasury/IRS as a Computer Program Analyst for many years. Charlene enjoyed traveling, reading, watching murder mysteries, playing games, electronics, travelling, knitting and crocheting blankets for babies in the Detroit area hospitals. She also was an avid Detroit Lions, Pistons and Tigers fan.
Charlene is survived by her sister Jacquelene (Jackie) Baker; nephew Bo Baker; best friend June Evans, aunts, uncles & cousins, and her two white German Shepherds Moe and Simba. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Anthony “Tony” Baker.
