Calvin's Obituary
Calvin (Ray). Spooner, 84, of Dowagiac, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, October 13, 2024, at Corewell Health St. Joseph after a short illness.
He was born on October 19, 1939, in Cassopolis, MI, the son of Roy and Arlene (Mead) Spooner.
Surviving are two children – William (Lynn) Spooner of Dowagiac and Deborah (Dave) Landman of Grand Rapids; three grandchildren – Anthony Spooner, Regan (Oliver) Saxon and Jordin Spooner; two great-grandchildren; brother – Donald Spooner; and special caretakers, Robert Wilson Family.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son – Jeffery Spooner; and three sisters – Dixie Henry, Flora “Elaine” Spooner and Irene Clifton.
Honoring Calvin’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation or services. Private family interment will be in Beard Cemetery, Leonidas, MI. Arrangements were entrusted to Clark Chapel and Cremation Services – Starks Family Funeral Homes, 405 Center St, Dowagiac.
