Bruce's Obituary
Bruce Wayne Strickland, 60, of New Buffalo, passed away on Monday – August 26, 2024 at his home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.
Bruce was born on August 8, 1964 in Michigan City, IN, to the late Charles and Charlotte (Crynes) Strickland.
He was a 1985 graduate of the Heritage Christian Academy in New Buffalo; and also attended ITT in Grand Rapids. Bruce played softball for app 18 years, and enjoyed working in his yard and scrapping, and was an avid Alabama fan. Currently he was employed at Briar Leaf Golf Course as a grounds keeper, and had also worked at Whitaker Woods.
Bruce is survived by his siblings – Charles “Bud” Strickland of Three Oaks, Michelle (Mark) Wingard of New Buffalo and Melissa (Dale) Reitz of Three Oaks.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday – September 9, 11:30am, at the Bible Baptist Church – corner of E. Clay Street and S. Whitaker Street in New Buffalo, with Pastor David Thompson officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service from 10:30-11:30am at the church. Final resting place is at Pine Grove Cemetery – New Buffalo, MI.
