Brock's Obituary
Brock R. Garber, 60 of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Holland Hospital. He was born on January 14, 1964 in Goshen, Indiana to Michael and Pamala Garber.
Brock is preceded in death by his cousin, Sam Scheibenberger; his brother-in-law, Rod Solina; and his grandparents.
He is survived by his daughters, Sondra Garber, Skylar Garber, and Sierra Garber; his parents, Michael and Pamala Garber; his sister, Monica Solina (Rod); and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Brock was a 1982 Graduate of LC Mohr High School, where he played running back and linebacker on the varsity football team; and won homecoming king. He went on to graduate from Phoenix Institute of Technology in 1985, where he received credentials for his automotive knowledge. Brock was a car guy and the proud owner of a 1969 Pontiac Judge GTO - which won him 3rd place in an Indianapolis car show. He had an immense love for Notre Dame football, drag racing, and rock music.
Brock and his daughters enjoyed spending time with dear friends Jimmy Pacwa (Susie) and Jerry Beckwith, working in their shops; Tim (Donna) Corbett, watching Nascar; Andy Hammersley, riding snowmobiles during Suttons Bay winters; and the Jacksons (Larry, Burma, and Lacey Jo) in the hills of Tennessee. He went on many camping trips with his girls where they made lifelong memories together. He had a fearless heart, a true dad personality, and a smile that sparked friendship with many.
Career wise, he elevated himself from mechanic to body shop management within numerous dealerships; notably working for Saturn, and most recently as the Body Shop Supervisor at Woodhams Ford in South Haven, Michigan. When not working, Brock was a member of both the VFW Post 667 of South Haven and the Moose Lodge of South Haven.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 30th at the Moose Lodge of South Haven at 1pm. His daughters encourage memorial contributions made to Al-Anon of Michigan in his honor.
Donations may also be made to the VFW Post 667 or the Moose Lodge of South Haven, as they have assisted the family greatly during this time.
