Beverly's Obituary

Beverly K. Wildeman, 86, of Kalamazoo, passed away on November 11, 2024. A private family service will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association – Michigan Great Lakes Chapter. Beverly was born on April 5, 1938, in Des Moines, IA, to Frances Ober & Mabel (Pease) Ober. In 1956, she graduated from Lake Michigan Catholic High School. On July 19, 1958, Beverly married her first husband, Robert Smithers. The two would go on to have two sons, Jeff & Michael, and a daughter, Laura. They were happily married until his passing April 19, 1995. On August 16, 1997, Beverly would later marry Robert Wildeman, until his passing 21 years later May 13, 2018. In her professional career, she worked as a cashier for ACE Hardware for eight years, from 1989 – 1997. Also, in 1989, Beverly completed a Basic Nurses Training Aid course.

Beverly was known for her incredible pies. Although she was able to make a wide variety, her two famous recipes were apple and pumpkin pies. She was also very talented when it came to knitting and sewing. Beverly was a proud member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Beverly is survived by her children, Laura (Jay) Klinko, Jeff (Renee) Smithers, Michael (Kim) Smithers; grandchildren, Crissy, Farrah, Trey, Aaron & Tyler; many great-grandchildren; and siblings, Barbara Clark and Jordena Swoffer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances & Mabel; and husbands, Robert Smithers & Robert Wildeman.
