Baudelia's Obituary
Baudelia was born on December 6, 1931 in Aramberri, N.L., Mexico. With her loving husband, Eugenio, she came to the United States and settled in South Haven, Michigan, where they raised a beautiful family of 15 - 10 boys and 5 girls.
Baudelia is survived by Joseph (Shelly) Aleman of South Haven, Juan (Catalina) Aleman of South Haven, Elvia Aleman of San Franciso CA, Herminia Aleman of Portage, Eugenio (Angie) Aleman of Pullman, Jesus Aleman of Corte Madera, CA, Alfredo (Kathleen Aleman of Portage, Peter Aleman of South Haven, David Aleman of San Franciso CA, Ana (Timothy) Aleman-Putman of Grand Rapids, Emily (Joshua) Aleman-McAlpine of Grand Rapids, Eduardo (Andrea) Aleman of South Haven, Arnaldo (Maria) Aleman of San Franciso CA and Esther Briones of Kalamazoo, daughter in law Brenda Aleman of South Haven and son in law Rogelio Flores of Columbia TN. She was also blessed with 34 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Her children were her greatest pride, and she loved them fiercely. As a mother, she instilled the values of education, service, and the importance of giving back to their community.
Baudelia was a force to be reckoned with, a strong advocate for women's rights before her time with a passion for justice and equity. She and Eugenio worked closely with the migrant families of West Michigan, providing food, shelter, clothing, job help, and faith leadership. They always said there was room for more at their table.
She had a deep love for the simple joys in life. She loved music and singing, listening to bible verses being read to her, growing beautiful flowers, and enjoying a scoop of strawberry ice cream. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
