Arlene's Obituary
Arlene Grace McNett, 87, of Decatur, passed away on Friday evening, April 5, 2024 at her home. She was born on September 26, 1936, in Beaverton, MI, to Earl Henry and Grace Elizabeth (Shaw) Covell. On July 20, 2002, she was married to William A. McNett.
Arlene was very outspoken, and everyone always knew what she was thinking. She loved camping, crocheting and making flower arrangements. Arlene loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her two children – Alfred Hurd and Debra (Donald) Ecie; five step-children - Deborah (Dennis) Coder, William McNett Jr., Cindy McNett, Nancy (James) Bobo, Cinnamon (Robert) Colletti, and Dionne (Russell) Couchman; six grandchildren – Patricia Keiser, Donald Hurd, William (Corinne) Hurd, Samantha (Jimmy) Rose, Benny (Jamie) Smith and Evan Swan; ten great-grandchildren – Justin, Michaela, Catelynn (Dalton), Rachel, Matthew, Jacob, Nathan, Emily, Charles Jr, and Nominee; seven great-great-grandchildren – Jay, Braelynn, Oakleigh, Leiland, Aaliyah, Kayson and Ryker; four siblings - Gary (Sandra) Covell, Dewayne (Brenda) Covell, Donna (Louis) Carroll, Phyllis Finley; several step-grandchildren and their families and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; and seven brothers - Alvie, Earl, Vern, Donald, Delos, Gerald and Darl; and two sisters – Leona and Marilyn.
The family will receive guests from 10am until the celebration of life at 11am, Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51, Decatur. Interment to follow at Harrison Cemetery, Decatur. Memorial contributions in Arlene’s name may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center, Kalamazoo.
