Al was born on October 16, 1933, in Ali Anife, Romania, to Gregor and Elizabeth (Eppinger) Weisser. Growing up in Austria, Al enjoyed skiing and soccer. He went on to play semiprofessional soccer in his young adult years. On August 30, 1958, Al married the love of his life, Leni Drexler, in Bretten, Germany. In October of 1960, the couple emigrated to the United States by ship and entered through Ellis Island Harbor. Al began work in Chicago at Stanley Knight where he was a Sheet Metal operator, his diligence and moral character landed him Plant Manager. He was later moved to Southwest Michigan to open and operate a new plant, where he and his family would indefinitely call home. Al went on to Co-Own the business, retiring in 2000.

Al enjoyed working with his hands and could successfully fix just about anything, a trait he has since passed on to his children. He was happy tending to his yard and gardening alongside Leni, this was clear given its beauty and perfection. Al loved to walk along the Lakeshore, visit northern Michigan, and play pinochle with friends. Music, especially music from his native Deutschland, brought him great joy. Al was a great story teller while simultaneously being a great listener. What Al valued most in life was spending time with his family; from hosting family gatherings, to supporting his children and grandchildren throughout their lives, his time with family was a cherished component to his happy life. His family could always count on him for their simple but grand tradition of chips and dip, and cold drinks. Al was adored by his family and will be greatly missed.

Al is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Leni; children (all local to Berrien County), Sibyl (Robert) Kish, Thomas (Jamie) Weisser, Peter (Mary) Weisser, Andrew (Emily) Weisser; grandchildren, Brad (Kristin), Kyle, Jessica (Michael), Justin (Rachel), Maria (Michael), Sydney, Zachary, Maxim, Axel, Jaxon, Liliya; Ten great-grandchildren; and siblings, Anni Hafner, Tony Weisser, Valentin Weisser. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gregor and Elizabeth; and siblings, Hans, Klemons, Jakob, and Gabriel Weisser.
