Wallis's Obituary
Wallis “Wally” Eugene Stricklin, 72, of South Haven, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. Wally was born September 20, 1946 to Roy and Sarah (Jones) Stricklin in Moulton, Alabama. He married M. Christine “Chris” Noles on July 22, 1965 in Dowagiac, Michigan. They shared 54 years in marriage. Wally worked in machine repair and worked for Venture Industries, National Motors, and Nobel Industries for a combined 44 years before his retirement. Wally was a talented wood worker and metal artist being the man behind Wally’s Creations. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing and hunting. Wally was a family man and always put his family first.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his five siblings, mother-in-law – Ethel Mince, and one brother-in-law – Steve Noles.
Wally is survived by his wife – Chris Stricklin; children – Tony (Carol) Stricklin and Teresa (Dan) Murphy; five grandchildren – Trevor, Travis, Kelli, Rachel, and Nathan; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 5:00 PM with Pastor Mark Lillie officiating. Wally will be laid to rest at McDowell Cemetery in Casco Township. Contributions may be made in Wally’s memory to Hospice Care of South West Michigan’s Rose Arbor Hospice, 222 N Kalamazoo Mall #100, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
