Vivian's Obituary
Vivian Carol Bierhalter, 79, of South Haven, Michigan, passed away at her home in South Haven, May 1, 2019 under hospice care. Vivian was born in Hilltop, Kentucky on August 23, 1939 to Wilburn and Doris (Barnett) New. Vivian moved to Benton Harbor and graduated in the Benton Harbor Fighting Tigers Class of 1957. Vivian moved to South Haven where her family owned the restaurant “Carol Ann” which had several locations. She married Philip Bierhalter. They had two children, “Nickie” and Philip. Vivian enjoyed baking cakes for weddings and graduations. She worked at South Haven Rubber Company, South Haven Coil, and South Haven Public Schools Bus Transportation for 17 years. Vivian was a member of the Maple Grove Bible Church where she served as treasurer, the South Haven Marching Band Boosters, Maple Grove Elementary PTO, a Life Time member of the American Legion, and the South Haven Moose Lodge.
She is survived by her husband - Philip Bierhalter of South Haven, daughter- Nicola “Nickie” (fiancé, Michael D. Rogers) of Denham Springs, Louisiana, son – Philip Bierhalter II of Hamilton, Michigan. Grandchildren – Courtney (Chauncey) Matheney of Hampton, Virginia, Victoria Heyer of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Matthew Heyer of Denham Springs, Louisiana. Great Grandchildren – Gavin and Sophia. Sister – Sue McKamey of South Haven.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00P.M. – 3:00 P.M. on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the American Legion Post #49, 129 Michigan Avenue, South Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #49, 129 Michigan Ave. South Haven, MI 49090.
