Bette Lithen

Bette (Goodrode) Lithen, 95, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at her daughter’s home under her and Hospice care. She was born September 27, 1923 to Max and Harriet (Kendall) Goodrode in South Haven. She worked as a cosmetologist and instructor for twenty years in South Haven, Benton Harbor, and Midland, Michigan. She retired in 1976 to Boyne City, Michigan with her husband Gilbert Lithen. They enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, and traveling the United States. She returned to South Haven in 1988 to be near her children and grandchildren following the death of her husband. She enjoyed frequenting the casinos.

She is preceded in death along with her husband by a son – Paul Ignelzi, two sisters – Virginia Perry and Jane Pierce, and brother – Max Goodrode.

Bette is survived by her daughter – Teresa (Dennis Ott) Ignelzi of South Haven, son – Tim (Linda) Ignelzi of Mountain Home, Arkansas, daughter-in-law – Gerrie Ignelzi of South Haven, grandson – Robert (Shelly) Paulson of Fennville, three granddaughters – Donna (Tim) Corbett of South Haven, Lori Ignelzi of South Haven and Nikki (Jon) Davis of Arlington, Texas, six great grandchildren – Joshua, B.J., Hunter, Taylor, Chase, and Kyle, and several nieces and nephews.
