Joan Dawn Pioch

Joan Dawn Pioch, 84, of South Haven, passed way Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in South Haven. She was born August 17, 1933 to Robert and Elsie (Cummins) Kellogg in South Haven. After Joan’s mother Elsie passed away at an early age, she was helped raised by her step mother Gwinavere Burrows. Joan married Alfred Pioch on June 11, 1965 and shared 52 years of marriage. She worked as a school bus driver and was the first female school bus driver for South Haven Public Schools. Joan enjoyed volunteering her time for many organizations and events in and around South Haven.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her siblings – Waverly Johnston, Robert Kellogg, and Betty Nevills.

Joan is survived by her husband – Alfred Pioch of South Haven, children – Kevin (Karen) Stephenson of Union Grove, Alabama and Gary (Pam) Stephenson of Arab, Alabama, step-son – Chuck Pioch of Howell, Michigan, 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Anchor Baptist Church in South Haven with Pastor Ernesto Amaya officiating. Joan will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
