David Dennis Martin

David Dennis Martin, 65, of South Haven, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the Bronson of South Haven Hospital. He was born December 8, 1951 to Cecil and Olga (Schmeichel) Martin in St. Joseph, Michigan. Dave graduated from Coloma High School with the Class of 1970. He worked for the City of South Haven for thirty years at the cemetery, as a meter reader, and at the water filtration plant before retiring in 2007. He also worked in the Consumer Conference Center. Dave enjoyed the waters of Lake Michigan and spending time on Paw Paw Lake. He loved to work on his house. He married Kristyn Torp on October 17, 1981 and shared 36 years in marriage. Dave was a member of the Hope Reformed Church in South Haven.  Dave enjoyed traveling and just recently returned from a trip from out west. He also enjoyed spending time in the hot tub and drinking Bud Light.

Dave is survived by his wife – Kristyn Martin of South Haven, children – Courtney Martin of Kalamazoo, Cassidy (Michelle) Martin of New Bern, North Carolina, and Cole (Audrey) Martin of Kalamazoo, siblings – Joe (Georgette) Martin and Donna (Mike) Woodward both of Sebring, Florida, and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Hope Reformed Church in South Haven. Memorial services will follow visitation at 2:00 PM with Pastor Steve Smallegen officiating.
