Richard D. Boeskool

Richard D. Boeskool, 75, of Lacota, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born December 3, 1940 to Herman and Laura (Meeuwenberg) Boeskool in Fremont, Michigan. Richard graduated from Fremont High School in 1959 and married Roseann Faino on September 18, 1964. He served his country in the United States Army. Richard operated his own farm from 1979 until 1998. He then worked for American Twisting from 2000 until his final retirement in 2013. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Roseann Boeskool who passed in 2007, and siblings – Helen Schipper, Ken Boeskool, Glenowyn Lipps, and Glendora VandenBerg.

Richard is survived by his children – Chris (Terri) of Lindenhurst, Illinois, Mike of Lacota, and Shawn (Margaret) Boeskool of Shelbyville, Michigan, six grandchildren – Brandon, Tyler, Chance, Kaelynn, George Ryan, and Jeremy Ryan, two great grandchildren – Chloe Boeskool and Preston Ryan, and siblings Robert (Mary) Boeskool of Grant, Michigan and Carol Kalsbeek of Fremont. Several nieces and nephews who were considered brothers and sisters also survive.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 20, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Pinto officiating.
